Seven representatives of Ukraine will play in the main draw of the Grand Slam tournament Australian Open-2024. Four tennis players were selected automatically due to their high rating: Elina Svitolina, Lesya Tsurenko, Marta Kostyuk and Angelina Kalinina. Three more athletes successfully overcame the qualification: Dayana Yastremska, Daria Snigur and Yulia Starodubtseva. Only one Ukrainian out of all the starters was eliminated in the qualification – Katarina Zavatska.

It should be noted that Svitolina, Kalinina and Tsurenko were seeded in the main draw due to their high rating. This is a new record for Ukraine at the tennis majors (three seeds).
And in general, seven representatives at the base of the TBS is a repeat of the national record. Earlier in the history of Ukrainian tennis, our country had such a wide representation among the elite at Roland Garros-2007 and Wimbledon-2008.
As for the Australian Open, seven participants in the main round is a national record of Ukraine. Previously, at this Grandslem, the maximum representation of Ukraine was six tennis players.
The Australian Open 2024 will begin on January 15.
